When talking to Commissioner Gordon, Robin mentions that there is a Gotham City monument which is dedicated to Benedict Arnold (1741-1801). Arnold was an American major general of the American Revolutionary War, primarily known for capturing Fort Ticonderoga in 1775. Faced with financial problems and hostility from American politicians, Arnold defected to the British Army in 1780. He served as a brigadier general of the British Army until his retirement in 1782. In the United States, Arnold's name has become synonymous with the term "traitor".
