Near the end of production, the music supervisor, who had been given money to pay composer Charles Bernstein, had been involved in a deadly car accident, and had fled with the money out of fear of being charged with manslaughter. Producer Sara Risher, who had just given birth to her son, was called by Robert Shaye to talk to Bernstein and convince him to finish the score while they were working out the finances.
