Originally scheduled for a November 17, 1995 theatrical release date, New Line Cinema then pushed it back to December 22, 1995. But, the combination of rushing post-production and holiday box office competition caused New Line to push it back again to March 29, 1996. Then, following negative reception from February 1996 test screenings, it was released straight-to-video.
