In season 2, episode 22 "something blue" Ted's argument to move to Argentina with Robin is that he regretted not taking a year to study abroad in college. But, earlier in season 2, episode 16 "stuff" Ted recounts the time he was backpacking through Europe and obtained the English phone booth.
