This was the sixth collaboration between Director John Badham and Composer Arthur B. Rubinstein. Their previous collaborations were Whose Life Is It Anyway?, War Games, Blue Thunder, Stakeout, The Hard Way and this film. This was the only time they worked together on a sequel. Their final film together was Nick of Time, which was released two years later and their seventh collaboration.
