Both Curtain and Saint James were hesitant about doing a weekly sitcom. Saint James was married to NBC executive Dock Ebersol and lived with her family in New York. Curtain, similarly a new mother, also lived with her family in New York. Both actresses did not want to relocate to Hollywood for the series. CBS offered to tape the show in New York which is what enticed both actresses to sign on. The series would tape at the famed Ed Sullivan Theater.
