While signing his book, Rick Moranis's character pretends to have lifted a plot from Stephen King's Pet Cemetery. Ironically, the opening sequence from the 1960's with the group of bullied kids... including an African American, a pretty girl, two skinny white kids and one overweight white kid... is straight out of the King-adapted miniseries IT.
