This movie got its title from Agente 007 - Al servizio segreto di Sua Maestà (1969), in which the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld had allegedly cut off his earlobes in order to further his claim to the title of Count de Bleauchamp. In this movie, during the scene where Elektra admits to James Bond that she is the main adversary, she reveals that during her kidnapping, she cut off her own earlobe.
