First James Bond film in the official film franchise that the James Bond character is, or has been working for, the American spy organisation the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). In the earlier unofficial ''Climax!'' American tele-movie episode of 'Casino Royale' (1954), Bond worked as a spy for the Combined Intelligence Agency which was a fictional and similarly worded version of the Central Intelligence Agency, with both bodies having the same CIA initials. Moreover, interestingly, 'No Time to Die' (2021) is the first film in the official series to be directed by an American director (Cary Joji Fukunaga).
