Another small moment included in the film that only die-hard fans of the characters would understand is the fear shown by the Venom symbiote when he realizes that Carnage is a"red one." Brock is able to convince Venom to continue the fight, though there isn't much explanation given to movie fans about why Venom was scared of a red symbiote. This could be a reference to the alternate way Carnage was created when it fused with the blood, or it could be a reference to the reveal that the 1000th symbiote in Venom's genetic line being more powerful than those before it, though that was actually the Toxin symbiote in the comics.
