The scene where Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) and some of his crew appear on Late Show with David Letterman (1993) was digitally composited from studio footage and footage from Letterman's original interview, (similar to the various scenes in Forrest Gump (1994)), and was not re-created for this film. David Letterman's appearance has changed a great deal since 2009, and he is not in this film, unlike Katie Couric, who is.
