After Saffron Burrows was dropped from the show after the 9th season in favor of the returning Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe, there was no explanation of why her character Det. Stevens never returned to the squad which is similar to what happend to Annabella Sciorra's Det. Barak, who was never mentioned again after Season 6.
