Lieutenant Detective Christian F. "Bigfoot" Bjornsen's (Josh Brolin's) line "Tough little wop monkey, as my friend Fatso Judson always likes to say", is a reference to the character of the same name from the novel and, later, film Da qui all'eternità (1953). In that film, the character Fatso Judson repeatedly using that phrase in reference to Private Angelo Maggio.
