The skyhook retrieval process is a real one devised by the CIA. It was used in the James Bond movie Agente 007 - Thunderball: operazione tuono (1965) at the end. In that movie and this one, the hero is shown holding another person when the plane grabs him. It was Domino in Thunderball (1965), and Lau in this movie.
