In the film, Two-Face jokingly remarks "open sesame" when ordering his henchmen. "Open sesame" is the magical phrase invented by the writer Antoine Galland (1646-1715) for his version of the "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves". Galland added the tale to his translation of the "One Thousand and One Nights", though it was not part of the original work. In the tale, Ali Baba has to repeat the phrase in order to gain entrance to the cave where a gang of thieves stores its loot.
