In this adaptation the Grand High Witch is discovered to have 3 elongated fingers on each hand. This upset parents of children with limb differences and caused children with deformities to be referred to cruelly as witches. In light of this Anne Hathaway wrote an elongated apology on her Instagram stating she "now knows better and is sorry for letting them down".
