In Scream 4 (2011), Dewey was revealed to have recovered from the limp he had in the prior two sequels after being stabbed in the first film, due to undergoing years of treatment in physical therapy. In this film, the limp is once again present as Dewey states he has permanent nerve damage after being stabbed nine times. The return of Dewey's limp could also be a result of his neglect for physical therapy after resigning from the Woodsboro police department.
