Despite the entire family allegedly being from Texas, all of their accents are vastly different. They dismiss Sheldon's "Mid-Atlantic" accent out of pretentiousness and anticipation of being a Nobel winner, yet his twin sister also lacks a southern accent. The most telling is that Mary (Sheldon's mother) was raised by "Meemaw" yet their accents are markedly different. Even the next door neighbor has a neutral accent.
