This is the first EON Bond movie whose title's onscreen appearance in the opening credits precedes its place in the lyrics, and the only such one until 007 - Zona pericolo (1987). All the rest of those first 14 title sequences had no lyrics (Agente 007 - Licenza di uccidere (1962), A 007, dalla Russia con amore (1963), Agente 007 - Al servizio segreto di Sua Maestà (1969)), the title absent from the lyrics (Octopussy - Operazione piovra (1983)), or the title appear just when it was first sung. (Agente 007 - Thunderball: operazione tuono (1965) notably had very slow opening credits in order to allow Tom Jones to get to the word "Thunderball".) Although the words "the spy who loved me" do occur in the title song, they are not close to the beginning; the title even appears one word at a time, almost tentatively, as if unsure about stepping out without support. Since 1987, even when the title is in the opening song, it is not heard until well after the title appears.
