Though he was recast for this film, Campbell Scott's character, Lewis Dodgson, is the same character who hired Nedry to steal the embryos in the original Jurassic Park (hence his possession of the shaving cream). Campbell Scott appeared in Dead Again with Wayne Knight, who played Nedry.
