When the Officer Pantuzzi (Tom Mardirosian) and Officer Reynolds (Charles Brown) confront Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) in the park, and Valentine starts lying about his phony war record, Officer Reynolds mentions that both he and his partner had served in Vietnam and asks him where he served. Valentine then spins a transparently bad story about being in the Special Forces and Airborne, to which Officer Pantuzzi comments, "Airborne, huh?" before he and his partner pick him up off his dolly and reveal that he has legs. It's a subtle and clever inside joke for paratroopers. Non-Airborne-qualified troops are referred to by paratroopers as "Legs" for "straight leg infantry", troops who do not blouse their trouser legs into their boots as only paratroopers and Special Forces are allowed to.
