First writing credit of producer Antony I. Ginnane in about thirty-seven years, the last had been for since Fantasm (1976), where he had been credited for the film's ''idea''. Ginnane, who is billed for co-writing this remakes's screen story, was the producer of the original 'Patrick' (1978), which was made a couple of years after 'Fantasm' (1978).
