The Russian helicopters in the movie, known as the Mil-24 "Hind", were radio control scale models. Also, during the close-up scenes, the cockpit of one the helicopters was used before its major role in another action movie, and the television series Blue Thunder (1984). Only two were built and re-used as Russian helicopters again in the mini-series Amerika (1987). Kai Wulff was also in one episode of Blue Thunder.
