In the Season 3 finale, Static Shock: Blast from the Past (2003), Static met Soul Power, an elderly veteran superhero with powers similar to his. Soul Power and his sidekick Sparky came out of retirement to team up with Static in order to defeat Soul Power's greatest foe, the evil genius Professor Menace. The original plan for the Season 3 finale was supposed to have Static meet Black Lightning, a DC Comics superhero who also had electricity-based super-powers. However, Black Lightning was not allowed to be used by DC because that would require them to pay royalties to Black Lightning's co-creator, Tony Isabella.
