Some viewers question why Joy didn't try to escape by figuring out the code for the electronic keypad lock. There could be thousands of possible number combinations, and she doesn't know how often her captor changes the code and/or if a certain number of wrong guesses would trigger an alarm. Furthermore, a brief shot reveals that the door was padlocked from the outside; she would be still imprisoned if she cracked the code.
