Shannen Doherty revealed in a interview that she was not fired and she decided to leave so her departure could keep the show fresh and it was decided that Prue Halliwell was to be killed by a demon. Shannen Doherty's character of Prue was replaced by Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews.
