The three male leads (Sir Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, and Ted Levine) have all worked with Julianne Moore, Jodie Foster's replacement in Hannibal (2001). Levine appeared with her in Evolution (2001), Glenn in The Shipping News - Ombre dal profondo (2001), and Hopkins in Surviving Picasso (1996), on account of which he recommended her for the role in Hannibal. Dan Butler also worked with her in Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011).
