Approximately 84 minutes into the film, while being interviewed by a reporter Jedediah pokes fun at the name of Kane's estate, Xanadu. He calls it "Shangri-La", "El Dorado", and "Sloppy Joe's" before admitting that he knows its real name. The first two are fictional places. Shangri-La is the utopian land from the book "Lost Horizon". El Dorado is a mythical South American king (or city or kingdom or empire, depending on the legend) adorned with gold. But Sloppy Joe's is a real place; it's a saloon in Key West, Florida that was a favorite haunt of Ernest Hemingway. According to Sloppy Joe's website, Hemingway came up with saloon's name. It is still in business.
