The film debut for actor Deogracias Masomi, also known by his artistic name Gracias. Director Aku Louhimies saw the music video of the song "HKI" by Gracias in 2010 and a screen test shortly followed. "Vuosaari" was released in February 2012 and the debut album "Globe" by Gracias & JTT was released in May in the same year.
