When we first meet Li in the oldest magic shop, he introduces himself as "Not Bruce Lee." This could be seen as a reference to 2011's The Green Hornet, in which Jay Chou, who portrays Li in this, played the role of Kato, previously portrayed by Bruce Lee in the 1966 TV adaptation of the character.
