Judy Garland played Dorothy in this movie; and Jack Hailey played the Tin Man. Judy Garland's daughter Liza Minelli ironically married Jack Hailey Junior, Jack Hailey's son many years later. This is not the only family ties type story with this clan. The next year Judy Garland would star in Meet Me In St. Louis that was directed by Vincent Minelli, the future husband of Judy Garland, who would father Liza Minelli with her shortly thereafter! And then shortly thereafter that Judy and Liza Minelli would star in Easter Parade together.
