The fact that Christine "Lady Bird" McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) and best friend Julie Steffans (Beanie Feldstein) wear the same color of nail polish is pure coincidence. Then, since there was a considerable degree of improvisational latitude allowed for character development on-set, a decision was made to have them wear the same polish color for the entire movie.
