In 2021 Quentin Tarantino revealed during a podcast with Joe Rogan that he had his heart set on Mickey Rourke for the role of Stuntman Mike, the two had discussed the role and agreed he would be perfect for it. Unfortunately as Rourke's agents started trying to hold out for more money, Tarantino stated that the agents believed he would pay any price to get Rourke, but as they tried to draw out negotiations he started looking at other options. Both Rogan and Tarantino lamented the actions of greedy agents
