Like with the first two Shrek films, this one was released the same year as a live-action/animated hybrid film by 20th Century Fox. Shrek (2001) released the same year as Monkeybone (2001), Shrek 2 (2004) released the same year as Garfield: Il film (2004) and this film released the same year as Alvin Superstar (2007), as well as the last Shrek film to do so. This does not count Shrek 4: e vissero felici e contenti (2010) which released the same year as Sansone (2010), which unlike the other 20th Century Fox live-action films with voice acting is not a live-action/animated hybrid.
