Dee's sudden inclusion into the Mallrats is never explained. During series three, four members of the Mozzies defect from the group to work as Lex's deputies. Given that Dee wears a Mozzie outfit and is working as a deputy in her first appearance, it is safe to presume she also accepted Lex's offer, but not at the same time as her colleagues.
