Orlando Bloom had just completed filming Troy (2004) when he received the screenplay for Le crociate - Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and was initially reluctant to even read the script for another historical epic. Knowing it was being put together by Sir Ridley Scott convinced him to give it a chance.
