Geordi LaForge is promoted faster than any Star Trek character before or since. In the first season, he is a Lieutenant Junior Grade. In the second season, he's a full Lieutenant. In the third season, he makes Lieutenant Commander. Other characters have had that many ranks, but none were promoted as fast as he was.
