(at around 51 mins) When Thor becomes a gladiator, he has his signature long hair cut short. In ancient Roman history, slaves who were sent to gladiator school and trained as gladiators had their hair cut short. Thor also wears a winged helmet during the battle, which is reminiscent of his helmet in Norse mythology, and in the original Marvel comics.
