Epilogue: "Alfred and Nancy de Marigny left the Bahamas for Cuba on December 6, 1943. Raymond Schindler spent several years attempting to re-open the investigation into Sir Harry Oakes' murder. He was unsuccessful. Harold Christie succeeded in his efforts to repeal the laws against gambling in the Bahamas. He was knighted in 1964 for services to the Crown. The Oakes estate was demolished. On its site now stands a resort hotel which overlooks one of the largest casinos in the Bahamas."
