When McCaleb is checking out the ATM crime scene, a bearded man is behind him who then uses the ATM. McCaleb later realizes that man is the serial killer for whom he's looking. Yet while McCaleb and all of the other law enforcement personnel have demonstrated that they know that ATMs have video cameras, no one thinks to check that ATM's video for the killer's face long before the last two killings, the kidnapping, and the final shoot-out take place.
