Movie executive Bryan Haworth of Miramax lobbied for the Weinstein Group and Harvey Weinstein to pick up distribution costs for the film. Unfortunately at the time, Weinstein was already committed to other projects including Falcon Crest (1981) and later Le iene (1992).
