The "Bixby Letter", read by Gen. George C. Marshall at the end of the movie, which reads in part: "The solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom..." is inscribed below the statue of Columbia at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
