The Marvel Comics character Tony Stark AKA Ironman, portrayed famously by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was based heavily on Howard Hughes. Leonardo DiCaprio was once considered to portray Peter Parker AKA Spidey during the early-1990s in James Cameron's Spider-Man: The Movie which was cancelled.
