In Charade (1963), which is also directed by Stanley Donen, Audrey Hepburn's innocent female character is not sure she can trust Cary Grant's male character who has seemingly shifting loyalties. In Arabesque, the genders are reversed, Gregory Peck's character is not sure he can trust Sophia Loren's character.
