After Season Six, ADA Ron Carver's character was dropped from the show, and from Season 7 until the end of the series there was no ADA present in the squad room or even during an investigation. This was due to Courtney B. Vance's departure from the show as well as budget since the show had left NBC to the USA Network on cable.
