Gary Oldman and Timothy Spall both played the William Shakespeare character of Rosencrantz; Oldman in Rosencrantz e Guildenstern sono morti (1990) and Spall in Hamlet (1996), starring and directed by Kenneth Branagh, who played Lockhart in Harry Potter e la camera dei segreti (2002). Oldman costarred with Tim Roth, who was at one time considered to play Snape.
