Another reference to The Walking Dead: the idea of having 'smart zombies' and 'stupid zombies' has already been explored in TWD as well. In TWD they were called the Whisperers (who turned out to be humans disguised as zombies) with their female leader named Alpha. In Army of the Dead the 'smart zombies' are called Alpha's who also have a female leader.
