The original plot had Bob helping Maria to become a famous singer. Xuxa and Sergio Mallandro first met when they were still teenagers in the early 1980s and became close friends. Since she was a famous fashion and cover model but felt people knew her image more than her own name, Xuxa asked Mallandro to help make such name famous as well. Furthermore, Mallandro was hired by TV personality Silvio Santos on the spot at the time, but turned down Xuxa after she repeatedly insisted on her stage name as being her real name.
