Janek acknowledges his radio communications with the crew by using the phrase "copy that". This term goes all the way back to the mid-19th century with the early telegraph operators who had to write down or "copy" their coded messages. It became widespread in the voice-signal era, with walkie-talkies, CBs, two-way and short-wave radios, to mean: message received and understood. The film is slyly suggesting that this old-school term has survived over 200 years of technological evolution.
