During one of Kylo Ren and Rey's conversations, he explicitly tells her that her parents didn't care who she was and threw her away like garbage for drinking money. Fan theories claim that this may be a lie, because in Star Wars - Il risveglio della Forza (2015), Rey has a clear vision of her parents leaving the planet by ship as she was being left behind, while Ren claims that her parents are buried in an anonymous grave on Jakku. There is also the question of how Ren got possession of this information, as none of this is expected to be recorded in official archives, and since this film continues almost immediately from The Force Awakens, Ren would not have realistically had the time to do an investigation on Jakku. However he saw it on Rey's repressed memories, so he wouldn't had to verify anything.
